How To Nail An Acting Audition

Think of a movie as a three bedroomed wooden house!

Why?

Because you will book more acting work

Nailing an acting audition can be hard, cant it?

Try and understand the way an acting audition is put together. The clearer you get on understanding this, the easier it will be for you next time.

This basic formula works for sides, scripts and screenplays as well. Play the nail not the house - if that sounds nuts watch the video below.

Step 1 : Think of your movie as a 3 bed house. Bedroom 1 = Act 1. Bedroom 2 = Act 2. Bedroom 3 = Act 3.

Step 2 : Each piece of furniture inside repesents a scene within each act, get the picture?

Step 3 : Look at a chair. It has arms, legs, slats and a back and a seat.

Step 4 : Each joint of wood is held together by a nail.

Step 5 : Look at each single nail. Each nail is your action inside the scene.

Step 6 : Play each nail - do NOT play the house. Get the idea?

Got any audition stories to tell - did you play the nail not the house? Did you nail it? ha ha ha..x
